What is Hall Motor?
Hall is a semiconductor sensor, under the effect of lorentz force, the electron flow is deflected to one side when passing through hall semiconductor, causing the film to generate potential difference from the side. This is called hall voltage.
The hall voltage varies with the intensity of the magnetic field. The stronger the magnetic field, the higher the voltage, the weaker the magnetic field and the lower the voltage. The hall voltage value is very small, usually only a few millivolts. However, amplification by an amplifier in an integrated circuit enables the voltage to be amplified enough to output a stronger signal.
In the motor, a rotating magnetic steel is used as the switch to control magnetic flux. When the magnetic steel is closer to hall integrated circuit, hall voltage is large, and the magnetic field deviates from the integrated chip, hall voltage disappears.In this way, the output voltage change of hall integrated circuit can indicate that the shaft is in a certain position, which can be used to control the motor rotation.
